An unexpected good week this week, as I said last week I wasnt expecting much because of what was on but the 3rd ODI between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh turned out to be a very good one with the rain arriving during the Bangladesh innings. I ended up with this book:
Unfortunately I bought a bit of insurance on the CMM so “lost” €300ish on that – it was only annoying because it literally stopped raining less than two minutes after I did it..! I thought they’d need an hour to clear up the ground so it seemed like there was only a twenty minute window for it to stop raining, after that it occurred to me I needed tie insurance too because it could be a completed match and tied so I’d end up losing the €300 which would have been a disaster from that position, so I had to cover that too, something which I dont usually do. All in all happy with the win and as I said it was unexpected, I just probably made a few mug decisions instead of just sticking with the match odds book and if it was void, it was void. But then again I suppose you do need to get something from those type of positions. Hard to know for sure whats right and whats wrong in those types of situations.
We went to Fairyhouse yesterday and I had a few winners there too which was nice, that Annie Power is some mare – she was quite buzzy in the parade ring beforehand but cruised it. I came close with my antepost position on the big one from here but I suppose have to be happy enough to settle with second and third rather than one of them being out of the frame! I ended up making €30 off that – pity one of them couldnt get their head in front because it would have been a really nice day then, bloody outsider! Theres always one.
I’m giving today a miss down there because the crowds will be mental on National day and the card is dire anyway, hope to get there tomorrow though. This week ends the Aussie wallet section of the year too, I havent been getting involved in the Kiwis and England Tests but it was unreal how England saved the last Test, shame about the night time hours. Looking forward to next week now, we have the IPL starting on Wednesday and the Grand National meeting in Aintree to enjoy. Stay lucky.
