P&L this week: +€332.21

Current P&L Total: €94,793.96

Well, what a week! Delighted to be able to relax today as its badly needed, I cant remember a week as busy as last week. I had the weekly visit to the Grandparents on Monday, played golf on Tuesday morning followed by trading the England v New Zealand T20, Wednesday I went to the Pro-Am in Carton House, Thursday and Friday the tournament and Saturday and Sunday The Curragh for Derby weekend. Shattered.

I obviously wasnt around to be on the computer too much, and only backed three horses for the challenge this week – I was on Ruler Of The World and Trading Leather antepost from the beginning of June, and I backed Alive Alive Oh yesterday but she was a non runner – she must be really good as they are really keeping her wrapped in cotton wool. As for the Derby, I was more confident in Ruler Of The World and had only backed Trading Leather as I couldnt see him out of the places but didnt see him winning. No real excuses for ROTW, apart from being covered in sweat before the race.

I managed to only lose €60 over the two days there, which was a blinding result given we were having a bit of a shocker to be honest, winners were hard to come by but we got through it and I was delighted to get out unharmed really, very hard to get winners on Derby day anyway. I managed to get a great photo of Intensified too, pity he got beaten at 1/5 then FFS – if it wasnt a nice photo I wouldnt bother keeping it he’ll hardly get a better chance to win a maiden. And it was a great decision to go yesterday and not go to Croke Park to see Kildare get hammered by Dublin as well!

As for the Irish Open, it was immense on Wednesday at the Pro-Am, the weather was great, the atmosphere was good even though there wasnt that many people there to begin with and it was great to be able to take photos etc. We managed to get Rory McIlroys autograph too which was nice! As for the tournament, well it pissed rain and we only brought a little umbrella not a golf one (even though I have two ffs!) and I had backed Rory too, PP were going 10/1 in shops, he was hitting it quite well on Wednesday – different story altogether then when it mattered which was annoying, the putting was terrible.

Looking forward to getting back into the markets this week now and hopefully theres no rust, theres a T20 every day from the English domestic season but I havent done one yet this year so I’ll start cautiously and go from there. Hopefully its a good one.
